Gifting with Compassion: 2018 pre-Golden Globes DPA Suite

Just days before the 75th Annual Golden Globes were to be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, a three-day gifting suite event was held just blocks away at the Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel in Beverly Hills, on January 4th – 6th. Golden Globe presenters and nominees were invited by DPA Group to an experience where there was an overwhelming show of brands that create more than just a product, but actually foster compassion and celebrate community. From food and beverage tastings, jewels, fashions and beauty products, to tech inventions and personal experiences; social justice, environmental consciousness and other philanthropic endeavors were freely promoted and discussed.

The featured non-profit for the 2018 DPA Golden Globes Gifting Suite was a returning favorite Love Light Compassion Foundation. Co-Founder/President, Tracy Appleton and Director of Sales, Lisa Barriere met with many celebrities and influential people to discuss the mission of the foundation to “provide emergency financial assistance to patients and their families undergoing a major medical crisis.”

Jacqueline Piotaz was on hand to personally rescue angelenos’ skin with “the first anti-pollution skincare system” and her original beauty treatment collections from Switzerland, while Kerstin Florian Beauty was there to “finish what your skincare starts” with a line of healthy makeup. Tahitian jewelry designer Turia Spector Vinh-Tung gifted guests with her striking Turia My Pearl creations alongside her daughter, as she shared her passion for giving back by supporting foundations that give employment to incarcerated women in Mexico. HillStreet presented creative costume jewelry, and Lisa Young Lee gave mental and spiritual health to guests who left wearing fine jewelry made by her team of reiki healers from a variety of gemstones.

Truth in Hand’s Lisa Greenfield added to search for well-being by offering advice and wisdom through her “Intuitive Hand Analysis.” Glorious gowns from Madame Adassa ran off with many a celebrity, according to designer Marsha Vairca, who named her label in homage to her grandmother. Santa barbara’s Amy DiGregorio presented a rustic elegance with her carefully crafted leather goods. TomBoyX  Apparel partnered with Amazon’s The Other F Word to rescue parents with a “Mom’s First Aid Kit” (alcohol included) and spread the word about the Human Agenda Campaign behind their “underwear that any body could feel comfortable in, regardless of where they fell on the size or gender spectrum.”

In hopes of promoting healthy living and decreasing damage to the environment, Barburger’s Mark Turner grilled up his “Impossible Burger” for guests who were amazed at the lack of beef in the secret recipe, while Mascarpone Cheesecake by Chef Turok dazzled with a persimmon/strawberry chip and edible gold leaf, polished off by tea drinks from Twinkle Brown Sugar and sweets from Baked by Sha Sha. On the naughty party side of the festivities maestro catador Felipe Soto Mares presented his passion project The Bad Stuff Tequila, while Honey Bubbles Sparkling Moscato poured liberally to create signature Golden Globes cocktails like the “Get Out Of Fargo” and the “Call Me By Your Name.” SPLASH natural low-calorie cocktail mixers invited guests into a chic lounge, complete with disco balls.

WooudUListen drew guests in with powerful sounds from mini wireless speakers that offered a grown-up zen option to their popular “My Audio Pet” speakers. Taking care of the needs of the jet-setter set, Norman Korpi (best known for being one of the original cast members/roommates on the first season of the MTV reality show The Real World) introduced his A/STAND transformative, portable work/play station.

There were several other innovators offering sunglasses, books, ice cream, scrubs and candies, so many to mention… The exhibitors at the 2018 pre-Golden Globe DPA Gifting Suite proved that deliciousness, comfort and beauty can elevate the visibility of a good cause and/or longtime passion. And, as it turns out that very same theme took center stage during the subsequent Golden Globes broadcast.
