SUMMARY:105th Annual Gold Medal Exhibition presented by California Art Club
DESCRIPTION:The Much Anticipated Exhibition of Contemporary-Traditional Fine Art Not Only Celebrates\,\nBut Also Expands Upon the First Artistic Movement Defined as Uniquely Californian.\nThe display of more than 200 contemporary-traditional fine art paintings and sculpture pays tribute to the pioneering artists who founded the organization in 1909 and inspired California Impressionism – the first artistic movement to be defined as uniquely Californian. \nMany of the featured works\, however\, represent a departure from the pristine California plein air landscapes that defined early Gold Medal Exhibitions. The artworks that underscore this year’s transition spotlight more figurative and inner-city themes as well as images of daily life from around the globe. \nAmong the nationally renowned artists participating in this year’s exhibition are Peter Adams\, Clyde Aspevig\, Belá Bácsi\, Warren Chang\, Scott L. Christensen\, John Cosby\, Dennis Doheny\, David C. Gallup\, Daniel F. Gerhartz\, Jean LeGassick\, Jeremy Lipking\, C.W.
