SUMMARY:It Takes a City: Artists and Collectives in Los Angeles
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nAs this year’s Made in L.A. biennial so beautifully dramatized\, many Los Angeles artmakers are sustaining their work as part of often localized\, yet also overlapping\, networks of peers and supporters. Across other disciplines\, more artists are banding together in flexible configurations to fit a variety of presentation settings\, some very unconventional\, as they work to open new creative opportunities. CalArts’ Steven D. Lavine welcomes a panel of compelling local arts organizers to discuss the challenges\, and rewards\, facing these emerging artist collectives. Guests include Yuval Sharon\, founder of game-changing opera company The Industry; Chris Rountree\, director of adaptable music formation wild Up; Lillian Barbeito\, co-founder of fast-rising dance ensemble BODYTRAFFIC; and Made in L.A. co-curator and CalArts Art Program co-director Michael Ned Holte. \nModerated by CalArts President Steven D. Lavine. \n\n\n\nShare this:TweetPrintLike this:Like Loading...\n\n	Related\n
