The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, or better known as CARF International, announced that The Village Family Services (TVFS) has been accredited for a period of three years for its adoptions, drop-in center, foster care, mental health and wraparound programs, on June 25, 2015. This is the first accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has awarded to The Village Family Services.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a “Three-Year Accreditation” has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

The Village Family Services is a community-based nonprofit organization with headquarters located at 6736 Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Suite 200, North Hollywood, CA  91606. TVFS provides a continuum of comprehensive services to achieve improved functioning and permanency & safety for neglected and abused children and youth. The Village Family Services envisions a day where all children and youth are free of social, emotional, verbal and physical harm.

In its evaluation of the agency, the CARF accreditation report documented the following: “TVFS is respected by its community partners, the persons served and other stakeholders as a quality service provider. The organization has dedicated and knowledgeable management and direct care staff members who are committed to providing quality care. Referral sources and other community service partners express great appreciation for the services provided.”

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF International, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
