Expanded & Rebranded: InSight APLA Luncheon 2016

“It has been a great honor leading APLA for over 19 years… the past
two years have been a truly remarkable period of transformation…”

– Craig Thompson, APLA Executive Director

THE REASON

Over 150 energetic and enthusiastic APLA supporters filled the room at The Avalon Hollywood for the annual InSight APLA Luncheon, on June 9th.

THE RECAP  Guests included John Abreu, Melissa Isler, Kevin Gibson, Darlene Kelly, Jason Walker, Milton Dellossier, Anthony Guthmiller. The crowd witnessed an inspired presentation on the expanding work of the organization and the rebranding to APLA Health. Board president Mark Perrin thanked presenting sponsors Winston & Strawn LLP for supporting the ever-expanding work of APLA Health, which includes serving those in underserved communities and all people throughout Los Angeles.

Clients can now receive primary care, dental care, STD testing/treatment, PREP services, mental health services, etc. regardless of HIV status. The unveiling of the new APLA has been a two-year process, but one that Executive Director Craig Thompson is especially proud of out of the almost 20 years that he has been at the helm.

The other big news of the event was the announcement that going forward AIDS Walk will be held in DTLA. For more information, visit www.apla.org.
