The Miss Best In Drag Pageant 2015

THE REASON   Aid for AIDS presented its annual fundraiser, The Best In Drag Show at the Orpheum Theatre in DTLA, on October 4, 2015.

THE REVELERS  Special appearances by Kathy Griffin, Dot Jones, Wendie Malick, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Kathy Kinney, Kay Sedia and Michael Patrick King. Guest included Jason Walker, John Kramer, Aaron Alan, Kai Hand, Jet and David Hyland, Adam Lucki, Tina and Jack Forrestel, and Best In Drag Show Set Designer Jimmy Cuomo.

THE RECAP  From Kathy Griffin’s opening monologue to Miss Alaska Ivana Kutchakockoff strangling a GOP presidential candidate with her diamond necklace the show was a ripping success! Other highlights included a live snake dance and head shaving by Miss Louisiana Britney Shears, a pole dance from Miss Nevada Lucky Dyce, a Fanny Brice inspired performance by Miss Florida Joy Vey and of course a knock-out round of dueling digs from Kay Sedia and Dee W. Ieye (video below). In the end it was Ivana Kutchakockoff who was crowned Miss Best In Drag Show 2015.

The sold-out show raised over $450,000 in funds for client services at The Alliance For Housing and Healing, a program designed to provide “a full continuum of care for men, women, children and families living with HIV/AIDS.” Visit the Best In Drag, Aid for AIDS Facebook Page or www. alliancehh.org for more information.
