AIDS Research Alliance’s World AIDS Day Concert

In its second edition, the 2013 World AIDS Day at The Colburn will remember the 60 million people who have died of HIV/AIDS with a concert, featuring a music program with a global theme.

Honored guests include; Robin SmalleyRobin Smalley, International Director and Co-Founder, Mothers2Mothers, Sir Ian McKellen, knighted in 1991 for services to the performing arts, and was made a Companion of Honour for services to drama and to equality, in the 2008 New Year Honours, and Sir Patrick Stewart, appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2001 New Year Honours list, and was made a Knight Bachelor in the 2010 New Year Honours for services to drama.

Master of Ceremonies, LeVar Burton made his debut as Kunta Kinte in the 1977 TV miniseries Roots. Burton also appeared for many years on Reading Rainbow, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He has been AIDS Research Alliance’s National Spokesperson since 2011.

Performances to be announced. The event is free to the public, but reservations are required.
