The event will serve dual purposes: The launch event for the newly created charity organization, Eladio Design for Hope (EDFH), and to celebrate the 6th Anniversary of SoCal Social Club – one of Southern California’s social and networking groups serving the LGBTQ community. Inspired by Baz Luhrman’s recent big screen adaptation of “The Great Gatsby”, the evening will embody a sense of glamour, nostalgia and fabulous design with special décor elements provided by Uwe Freyer, a design and textile expert from Schoos Design, Inc. Mr. Freyer will present several “vignettes” for the scheduled silent auction, including items donated by the local design community and live models dressed in circa 1920’s fashion created from donated interior design and international fabric houses.
A key mission of Eladio Design for Hope is to call upon the Design Community to “step up and make a difference”. EDFH founder Joseph Arzuaga works as a designer for the global hospitality design firm Schoos Design, Inc. and has established this charity with an executive planning committee from the design industry. “Our mission is to help those living with HIV & AIDS, including children and their families, suffering from a lack of adequate medical care and rising medical costs. It’s about care for everyone living with HIV & AIDS, gay or straight,” said Arzuaga.
Additionally, the event will feature live music by DJ Amrel, drink specials, complimentary appetizers and a raffle drawing. Cocktail Attire – Cash Bar / Drink Specials – Complimentary appetizers until 8:30 pm – Music by DJ Amrel – Public parking available at 2nd St. @ Arizona.
