Located in DTLA, Redbird is Fraser’s flagship where he showcases his signature sensibility of refined yet approachable modern American cuisine, influenced by the city’s multitude of cultures. Carved into one of the city’s most historic architectural gems, inside the former rectory building of Vibiana (the cathedral-turned-event-venue), Redbird is singular, timeless and “blissfully grown-up.”

Outside of the restaurants, Fraser has logged some hours on the small screen, most notably on Bravo TV’s ‘Top Chef Masters,’ Fox’s ‘Hell’s Kitchen,’ and Food Network’s‘Iron Chef America,’ on which he won his battle against chef Cat Cora. He also won his battles on Esquire TV’s ‘Knife Fight,’ and Food Network’s ‘Beat Bobby Flay.’ Over the years, both Fraser and wife Amy Knoll Fraser have been active members in the community, donating time and talents to a variety of charities. Six years ago, they co-founded Beefsteak, an annual event benefitting the Los Angeles Food Bank with Simpson’s Executive Producer Matt Selman, comedian Eric Wareheim and comedy producer Cort Cass.

“C-CAP is a great organization where I get to see direct results and I have been fortunate enough to have some great students come through our kitchen,” says Fraser. “We try to give back as much to the community as we can at Redbird | Vibiana. This dinner is a perfect fit for us and for C-CAP.”

Led by Chef Marcus Samuelsson as board co-chair, Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) transforms the lives of underserved high school students around the country by helping them pursue their culinary dreams. C-CAP, founded by culinary educator Richard Grausman, prepares talented teens for college and careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry through its enrichment program including job training, paid internships, scholarships, and college and career advising.

The evening will feature a cocktail reception of hors d’oeuvres, champagne, wine, beer and a specialty cocktail created by Top L.A. Mixologist Devon Espinosa* (Sunset & VinylGustoThe VenueThe Church KeyInk, *C-CAP Alumnus).

“I was your classic troubled youth with a lack of focus and zero goals. It wasn’t until I discovered C-CAP that I realized my passion for cooking had potential to become a lucrative career. C-CAP gifted me a path and ignited the fire within me to work towards a better future for myself,” says Espinosa. “For me, giving back to C-CAP helps to guarantee that the next generation is given the same incredible opportunities I received.”
