6th Annual

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

Los Angeles

Less than one week before World Champagne Day (October 23), L.A.’s party elite toasted to the iconic House of Clicquot at the 6th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Los Angeles.

Polo-goers and champagne sippers descended upon Will Rogers State Historic Park for a gorgeous afternoon of polo viewing and picnicking while imbibing champagne and buying Veuve Clicquot branded-items. Decked out in their most dignified attire, the revelers engaged in Veuve Clicquot styled everything; from over-sized Jenga and Connect Four lawn games to picnicking and divot stomping. Hats are of course de rigueur at a polo match, and L.A. didn’t disappoint, but certainly surprised! Aside from the abundance of Clicquot Chapeaux, butterfly swarm hats were the hat trend of the day.

During the thrilling polo match, the crowds tried not to slip down the hill as they cheered from the sidelines, while the super elite applauded from the VIP Rosé Garden. Polo star and Ralph Lauren spokesmodel, Nacho Figueras played alongside his wife Delfina Blaquier for Black Watch, the opposing team. Naturally and respectfully Team Veuve Clicquot lost the match to Black Watch.

“The remarkable Madame Clicquot (1777-1866) is considered one of the first business-women of the modern era. Widowed in 1805 at the age of 27, Madame Veuve Clicquot defied every convention of the day to take the helm of her late husband’s small Champagne House.”

Cheers to the Widow Clicquot and all the
revolutionary single mothers of the world!

Happy Champagne Day!
