Flips & Slips: Best In Drag 2017

Best In Drag Show 2017

THE REASON   The  beauty pageant spoof is held annually at the Orpheum Theatre in DTLA to benefit the services and programs of Alliance for Housing and Healing.
THE REVELERS   Kathy Griffin, Dot Jones, Dylan McDermott, Selma Blair, Marc Cherry, Leslie Grossman, Maggie Q and Holland Taylor, among many others…
THE RECAP   In the end there could be only one, and that one was Miss New York “Anita Tony” (aka Joshua Skidmore) who stunned the audience by singing live the song “Think of Me” from The Phantom of the Opera (composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber). Skidmore is a regular soloist for the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, so no surprise there!

The celebrity judges and faithful fans were once again extremely generous with hefty checks and a flocks of crumpled bills flying through the theater totaling in over $550,000 raised for the non-profit. Enjoy highlights of the sparkling festivities in the slideshow, below.
