With Spice & Sperm: Songs To Save The Queen(s)

THE REASON GMCLA presented its “God Save The Queen(s)” concert  in celebration of their 35th Anniversary Season, on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at The Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.
THE RECAP The chorus performed music by popular Brits such as The Beatles, Sade, Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Elton John, Queen, Annie Lennox, David Bowie, Adele and Queen. However, the real show-stoppers were Monty Python’s “Every Sperm is Sacred,” the gay James Bond medley and the closing number of with the “Spice Girls.” GMCLA’s Executive Director, Chris Verdugo alerted the audience that gay marriages were officially legal in England as of midnight on that day and the first marriages had begun taking place all over England, with thanks in part to Queen Elizabeth II.
