WIDE-EYED & BUSHY-TAILED: GMCLA’S Spring Concert AWAKENINGS

“Awakenings celebrates the heightened sense of awareness brought about by this wonderfully mysterious power of music… this music is intended to be seen with your ears.”
– E. Jason Armstrong, GMCLA Artistic Director-Conductor

THE REASON The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles gathered at First Congregational Church of Los Angeles for their spring concert, Awakenings, on March 16 and 17. THE REVELERS Director of Development, John A. Lambert and other GMCLA  representatives greeted audience members at the door. Special guests included choral group, Vox Femina Los Angeles and FCCLA’s Rev. R. Scott Colglazier. THE RECAP GMCLA partnered with Vox Femina L.A. and Lifeworks to present a selection of inspiring and spiritual choral music. In his address, Executive Director, Christopher Verdugo announced that FCCLA is now the permanent home for GMCLA’s spring concert, rehearsals and fundraising events.

A portion of GMCLA’s fundraising efforts benefit the ItGetsBetterTour.org. Regardless of sexual orientation or any other minority status, “Everyone that walks through our doors is a child of god,” Colglazier said.
